Changing homepage in apache

Probably a stupid question but I'm really struggling to find an answer to this.

I've just installed wordpress on my webserver which of course is using servername/wordpress. Is there a simple way to change it so that my server defaults to wordpress when I type in 'servername' only without the /wordpress.

I'm an apache noob ofc. It's a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server if that's relevant.
