Hello, I posted here before regarding my Centos 6.8 server freaking out every two days. We're still plagued by the issue with the computer kernel panicking bidaily. I saw something of interest the other day when I did a dmidecode command.
[root@resh ~]# dmidecode -t system
dmidecode 2.12
SMBIOS 2.7 present.
Handle 0x0100, DMI type 1, 27 bytes System Information Manufacturer: HP Product Name: ProLiant DL360e Gen8 Version: Not Specified Serial Number: USE246LTHA
UUID: 31313636-3938-5355-4532-34364C544841 Wake-up Type: Power Switch SKU Number: 661189-B21
Family: ProLiant
Handle 0x2000, DMI type 32, 11 bytes
System Boot Information Status: Firmware-detected hardware failure
I'm not sure how to dig deeper and ask it what sort of hardware failure it detects. This error message was displaying both before and after we installed a new set of RAM onto the server so I don't think it's a memory issue. But how can I investigate further when it only gives me such a vague error message?
The computer runs fine when it's not having the bidaily panic issue so I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with the hardware.
