Issues with ZFS

Hey All, Okay I have two issues with ZFS that any assistance would be great. I am currently testing ZFS before we put it into production and there are only two issues I can find. Firstly, on every reboot I found that the ZFS Pool would not import automatically. I would have to run 'zpool import <POOL>' every reboot whether it was planned or unexpected. I found this article: http://www.sysadminguide.net/zfs-import-cache-service-fails-on-startup-how-to-fix/ I added the "dd if=/dev/urandom of=/etc/hostid bs=4 count=1" and to be honest its fixed it so far. Every reboot the zpool imports and is there on bootup. Is this the preferred fix for this, or is there something else? Secondly, I have added a Cache to the pool (L2ARC) I find however that after every reboot the drive shows as "Faulted" Again whether planned or unplanned. The Far column shows "Corrupted Data" now interestingly If I Export the pool and then import it immediately again it shows as online. Anyway I can stop it faulting after every reboot?

Running on Ubuntu 16.04

Happy to provide more details if required.
