Mod_jk vs mod_proxy_ajp? If mod_jk I need to build my own package...

Hey, I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I don't know if anyone saw my other post last week, here.

It looks like we're moving ahead on installing from RPM. I've had to stay on top of everyone to get this done, but it's at least heading that direction.

We have a bit of a custom tomcat installation, but I've already created a RPM for that and tested it. Now I have to worry about the connection from apache httpd to Tomcat.

We currently use mod_jk but there are no packages and it doesn't look like the easiest thing to package up. I've done a little bit of research and it seems that mod_proxy_ajp could be a pretty good replacement and it comes with httpd.

Any suggestions here?

I'm hoping I'm over-thinking making the mod_jk package...
