We just hired a new guy (real sharp) to help me out with administering 800 physical servers. Work believes strongly in improving and learning, so I want to get this kid some books. He knows his way around the shell and is a quick study.
I was thinking of getting him some (physical) books on bash, python (my favourite scripting language), puppet, mysql, nginx, and linux administration.
What's good, helpful, and current?
