Help with CLVM

edit fixed; I had to perform the LVM setup on my multipath drive

I am having trouble setting up CLVM on Centos 6.4. I am trying to use an iSCSI LUN as a clustered volume between two servers.

I am rebuilding some servers that previously had this working, but I am using a new LUN on a different SAN. I have a document that has some of the steps the original admin used, but it seems to be missing some steps.

So far i have installed iscsi, iscsid, multipathd and clvmd/cman. I can log into the iSCSI volume, and I see it in /dev/mapper/mpathb on both servers. I have also added the previous cluster.conf file to the /etc/cluster folder. Yet, the volume never shows up in my volume groups.

I feel a bit lost at this point.

Do I need to format the volume and put a file system on it? what am I missing here?
