We're just changing from Clonezilla'd clients to diskless booting ones. Two rooms are supposed to get one server which should serve 70 clients at most. As they're at school, they will most probably be started at the same time. Every client has gigabit NIC and 4-8GB RAM. What does our server need to provide? We guess we'll need about 24GB RAM, 8 Gb-NICs as a huge bond (balance-rr) and 2 OCZ Vertex 3 as RAID 1. Is that too overpowered or does it miss something? OS is openSUSE 12.3, booting LXDE.
