I've had success with FreeIPA but OpenLDAP is just driving me up a wall. Before posting any specifics I just wanted to gauge how many Linux Admins out there are actually using the new OpenLDAP configuration without the .conf file and have had success with it. There don't seem to be too many guides out there apart from the updated Ubuntu Docs (got to step 2 before experiencing problems), and the official doc, which I've found a bit out of my element so far.
Just wondering if I should pursue the new version, go with an older one, or stick with FreeIPA.
