I am a computer science undergrad from a liberal arts college. My task is to design a cluster, calculate costs, and write a mock proposal. I have very little knowledge about clusters and the project was not based on material covered in class. Searches on how to build clusters have led me to Beowulf.
Any suggestions on helpful resources or hardware selections? What advantages does Linux provide for clusters? Why Beowulf?
