I have about two years of experience using GNU/Linux on my desktop and laptop PCs. I have enough knowledge to work with Debian, Gentoo, etc. and come across few issues I can't solve myself, and I think I'd like to pursue a career as a Linux administrator (or, at the very least, just expand my Linux knowledge because I find it fun). I have a brief idea of what I should be doing and learning, and use a Debian system to experiment with all of this, but I notice that most sysadmin jobs are for RHEL, so I was wondering if I should switch to CentOS before continuing? I understand that there are some slight differences between Apache on Debian and CentOS (mainly because of "the Debian way" AFAIK) which may cause confusion in the future.
If it turns out this isn't such a big deal, I'll keep on using Debian but experiment with CentOS in the future.
Also, if you've read this far (thank you very much), please feel free to recommend things you think I should be doing, reading, etc. -- I have experience with shell scripting, C, Perl, etc. and am willing to learn whatever's necessary and/or fun!
Thanks in advance!
