We have a regulatory requirement to run anti-virus on our Linux servers. We have now tried 2 different vendors, Kaspersky and McAfee, both have caused lots of issues with our RHEL 7 servers.
Kaspersky just flat out crashed out RHEL 7 servers and put them into a boot loop. After research, kaspersky did not support RHEL 7.2 even though it was 6 months after it was released.
McAfee seems to only be adversely affecting our IPA servers. It will lock up all services on the box to the point you can't even restart them. Once the mcafee service is restarted everything takes off. Support cases have gotten us nowhere, and we now have so many scan exclusions it's almost pointless to have it at all.
Has anyone had any success with antivirus on RHEL 7 or any distro running systemd?
