Why use Scientific Linux?

Forgive me if I am missing something here.. I've seen a few posts 'round these parts (mostly older) where people are using Scientific Linux rather than something like CentOS. Given that Red Hat has embraced the CentOS project (quite a while ago now..), what is the point of using SL? Are there certain features that differentiate the two? Is it just a Find/Replace job? Is it the community? When I installed SL, I felt like it was very rough around the edges in terms of the look and feel.. I know looks aren't everything, but first impressions tend to be key.

I currently run everything (oVirt, IPA, etc) on CentOS 7, just wondering if I am missing out on something.. lol.
