Is it wrong that I feel like I won the lottery?
Unnamed org did staff reductions and my position was eliminated. I'm getting amazing references going all the way up to the CTO and the severance was quite significant. Recruiters are already falling over each other to get me into interviews. I'm taking two weeks just to screw around. I'm probably getting a raise out of this - every time I've switched jobs in the past 3 years it's meant a 25% raise or better. And I didn't like working there that much anyway.
Why isn't it like this for everyone when they get laid off? It seems really not fair. Everyone's like "oh I feel really bad for you" and I'm thinking I should be throwing a party or something.
I'm also deathly afraid of the unknown and that my new job is gonna really suck, well compensated or not.
