Hello,
First of all this problem is on a FreeNAS server, not a linux one. I hope it's okay, I did not find an active subreddit for FreeBSD systems, since it's fairly similar I assumed I could ask for help here.
So I have a FreeNAS server with theses technologies used :
CIFS ZFS FTP
We have one client using FTP on it through the WAN and 64 clients connectings through CIFS. Both FTP and CIFS share are on the ZFS pool (wich is on a hardware RAID 10).
Our problem is that our clients are randomly disconnected from the FreeNAS for random amounts of time. During the disconnection the client and the server cannot even ping each other. The 64 internal clients are on one cisco switch connected directly to the FreeNAS. Same network, same subnet.
We tried doing a failover lagg between 2 Ethernet interfaces on 2 different network cards. Same Problem We tried doing a load balancing lagg. Same Problem.
When I see they are randomly connected I mean that the clients disconnected are random, but they are always clients that cannot access the server at any given time. Some times it's number 3, 15, 45, 50, 60 and sometimes it's another random group of clients.
That's it. We are trying to figure it out but so far we are going through logs and specialized forums.
Thank you for your time,
