I am currently working in a very large RHEL shop, we have RHEL5-7 right now and we use satellite 5 to manage a large portion of our infrastructure. I have been doing a large amount of testing with the software, puppet, and docker repos and content views and I'm very satisfied with the changes that were made, aside from the need to convert all of the old static configs and config channels to puppet modules.
I am about to change jobs and the place I am going is a very heavy debian environment. As you know Satellite 6 will not manage anything other than RH based stuff. Is there an application out there that will allow me to manage debian based servers? Will I need to string together a few different applications? And if so what applications are the best to do this?
Something that I really appreciate is the ability to pull in repos to a catalog and manage them based on SDLC(dev -> prod) methods.
