centos 7 ethernet device naming

Hi all,

I'm starting a project to migrate centos 5/6 servers to centos 7, but system d has been a barrier to motivation thus far.

I spun up a new VM (VMware vSphere) and its default ethernet device was named eno16777984.

There are documents on how to change this online, but is there something I can do at build level to motivate this to be something sane? I'd like to not resort to setting up a Kickstart system just at the moment, but if that's the only way, then that's ok. But thought I'd check just in case it's not possible to change even there.

Thanks
