[Help/Discussion] About creating RAID-Z during installations

I been studying about LXD for the past month so I just find out about ZFS and its benefits and I wanted to try it. The thing is, the only stable distro that seems to have support out of the box for ZFS is Ubuntu (16.04.beta2) and even there the installer doesn't allows you to create any tipe of zfs raid during the installation.

If I understood correctly in order to have the entire system installed on a RAID-Z1 (for example) is 1. installing in another hdd/pendrive, 2. creating the raid-z1 and 3. moving the system and correcting the files (fstab, etc).

Is this right or I'm missing something? Isn't there a more straight forward way to do this?
