I've started seeing some of my clients' chef runs failing this week and noted they were all hanging on pulling a tar file from http://fastcgi.com/dist/mod_fastcgi-current.tar.gz. Looks like the site now has a circa 2002 landing page for Chelsea Networks (seriously it references IE 4 and Netscape 3). After some digging around whois and doing some reverse IP lookups it appears there are quite a few sites on that server with the same IP and same issue. Wondering if anyone else has seen or knows anything, this may just be a case of some borked name based vhosts (which seems plausible given the site resolved to an nyc charity in May 2011 for a while) or who knows? Way Back Machine shows it was working properly earlier this month. I did find http://fastcgi.com/index2.html interesting though.
I was at least able to grab the most recent tar of it from chef cache so that at least helps for the time being. Does anyone know any decent reputable mirrors for fastcgi/mod_fastcgi?
