I apologize in advance, I'm a network engineer who was a linux admin 20 years ago, so I'm a bit rusty. Hopefully this isn't off-topic here.
I'm trying to setup an owncloud server using LDAP for authentication, but have discovered that owncloud expects quota settings to be managed on the directory server itself. I don't own or manage the LDAP server and was looking to leverage LDAP to keep the benefits of SSO.
Is it possible to run OpenLDAP where I can manually manage user accounts, but push the password authentication to another LDAP server? My environment will only have 20-30 users, so manually maintaining the users and groups isn't a concern, this would really be to keep SSO to avoid me getting dragged into password resets on a weekend.
What feature sets should I be investigating if this is possible?
