I have several servers that need to share about 9 million files that take about 3TB. Many of the files exists for only seconds. GlusterFS is currently being used, but it's not performing well. There's a rebalance that has been going on for more than 2 months and with certain folders out of sync they can't be deleted and that causes other problems. Also, load has been getting very high lately [ >100 at times ]. We liked the redundancy it offers since it's in Azure and servers sometimes reboot unexpectedly. What's a better solution for a redundant file server? I admin the best decision would be to not use a file server, but the programmers won't be able to re-code this multi-tiered app in time. Thanks in advance for you input.

submitted by
