Hi guys,

Basically I was having some trouble running Steam (I use this server for InHome Game Streaming as well as Plex, and webserver), so I began investigating how I could fix it.

I ran across some articles asking me to:

Try running this in the terminal with no quotes: "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib32:/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH/usr/bin/steam:~/.steam/bin32

When this fix didnt work, I began installing glrxinfo, and trying to reinstall ia32 libs, gtk2 engines:i386, basically I get the feeling I curropted the video drivers in some way because I dont get passed booting up now - the gdm never boots up for me to login.

I was wondering, I would prefer not to have to reinstall everything I've already set up - so is there anyways to boot into command line rather than have it try to default boot, and if I get that far, is there a way to revert back to some fresh installation of drivers, or does Ubuntu do restore points that I could somehow maybe go back to last week when everything was smooth :(

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
