I have inherited some production systems running Centos 6, with a 100Mb /boot partition, and the rest of the disk using LVM (128G, plenty of space). The /boot is at the start of the disk. While that was an acceptable size for Centos 5.x, that is barely 2 kernels in centos 6, and we would really like to extend that to 512Mb somehow. (we are having all sorts of glitches with updating kernels, disks full, etc)
Am I SOL, or stuck doing some crazy thing like adding a new disk (all VMWare) and PVMOVE all the volumes (root and everything) off of sda, to sdb, then resizing /boot, then adding the rest of the disk back as available space for LVM? (is that even possible while the machine is running)
