I recently purchased a Dell PowerVault LTO-6 tape drive to use with my Dell server running Ubuntu 14.04.3 - I want to set it up so that I can format LTO-6 tapes using LTFS, so that I can see the LTO-6 tape as if it's an external disk drive, dragging and dropping files in to it to copy them to the tape.
Do I need to download any software to manage the tape drive, such as drivers, or software that will allow me to format my new tapes as LTFS? Or should this thing be relatively plug-and-play with Ubuntu? I've never used tape drives before, so this is all foreign territory to me. Thanks!
