How to get on the right path?

Hi,

I have recently started exploring this great OS and purchased the book "The Linux command line by William E Shots".

I am devoting around 3 hours of my day-time for this book and I think I am gonna finish with it in the next 2-3 months.

I have been told by many that "Unix and Linux system administration handbook 4th edition" is the book to get afterwards and it's a must-read for everyone who wants to expand his knowledge in Linux administration.

How well will the above 2 books prepare someone for Linux?? I know this question seems to be vague or indefinite but I would like to know that I am on the right track from the beginning so I won't waste my time.

Also, what do you think the next step should be ?? Will looking to get certified be a good idea??
