GlusterFS part 2...

I posted here a few weeks ago when I was starting my journey with GlusterFS and got some great feedback. I've decided to go with it for our lab and have my Vagrant testing environment completely set up using Ansible for deployment.

I'm still a little unsure on how I'd like to lay things out and am toying around with a few ideas. The easiest solution would be to simply RAID 10 the bricks across 4 nodes, but since 2 of my machines are R710s and can handle a little more storage than the other two I've been wondering about other implementations.

One thing I've been wondering about (which I'm not sure if Gluster is cabable of) is a multi-tiered approach to storage, where I would stripe across my two smaller servers for quicker write capability, which would then be replicated to a secondary and tertiary source (each w/ double the capacity of the smaller storage servers). I drew up a quick diagram of it here if anyone wants to check out what I'm talking about.

Does anyone know if this is possible with Gluster, and if it is has anyone implemented and been happy with something like this?

Thanks!
