I help out a family friend's company on a consulting basis from time to time, and this time.. it's a fun one. They had some aging Gen 5 HP's, and I'm helping move them to Gen 8's. And some very old ESX installs, the oldest of which was 3.5.
They chose to go Hyper-V so the one person on-site could easily support it (I suppose..), and most of the moves went fine by using disk2vhd, but the last one is tricky. It's a pretty key VM that's running CentOS 5.11, and is on a ESXi 3.5 host. I'm finding next to nothing on how to get this thing moved from that ancient host to a new Hyper-V host.
Anyone have any experience with this? Easiest route to get this thing moved? It has some pretty odd custom software running, and also some IBM tools installed on it that I'd hate to try to do all over again, but I'm pretty close to just doing a clean install. \
