Hopefully someone here can save me from the nightmare weekend I've had trying to push discover an Ubuntu machine in SCOM. I'll admit I'm not proficient with Linux, but being the only person in my company who has an inkling in how to use it, I've been tasked with it.
I've done everything I could possibly find on how to do this. SSH installed, configured, root privileges done, ports opened, the lot. Yet any time I try to discover the Ubuntu machine via SCOM's discovery wizard, it comes up with an SSH connection error, citing 'too many authentication failures'. I've tried to connect to the ubuntu machine using Putty, and that throws up Access Denied whenever I enter a password for the user.
This is driving me absolutely insane. Any help is appreciated. Sorry I can't elaborate on what I'm doing or done, but it's difficult enough trying to grasp it myself.
