When to use /srv ?

The FHS defines /srv as the following:

Site-specific data which are served by the system.

For myself I use it for shared content or full web applications that require a proxy or other application to run (think Python applications that run on their own port or need WSGI).

Tt makes sense to me but curious if I am using it as designed or if I should still move my web applications into /var/www

What do you use it for if at all?
