I already asked this in /r/bigdata (https://www.reddit.com/r/bigdata/comments/36h8pk/big_data_for_an_infrastructure_person/) but I'm hoping that I might get a more linux sysadmin bias here.
While its interesting learning about Big Data stuff, I'm not getting the right information in terms of infra : monitoring, backup, security, etc etc. Its like all people care about is the pretty stuff. Both my team (Oracle DBAs) and the Unix/Linux guys that we share an office with feel that there isn't much info for Big Data Infrastructure people.
Can anyone here point out some good presentations or pdfs or sites that they've found that cater to the infrastructure side of Big Data? Cheers.
