Getting website that uses .asp to run on apache

I am migrating a Windows 2000 server machine that hosts a website which happens to include some .asp files to Debian 8 Jessie. I have Debian 8 in a VM and a copy of the site for testing. I have installed apache2 (enabled it to run), mono-complete, mono-xsp4, libapache2-mod-mono (mod_mono plugin, I installed Stretch package as there is no package for Jessie)....and I am stuck from there. I copied all of the site's files into /var/www/html (all files are just dropped in there) and when I enter the IP of the VM to see if the site is working....I am brought to that test config page even though I removed index.html. I am stuck.

I am knew to Debian (previously worked with CentOS) so sorry if I forgot to do some things. I am reading/working as I go and did not prepare for this.

EDIT: WAIT I GOT IT, I had to go to the file Default.htm....I bet if I rename that to index.html itll make it default. EDIT2: Alright so te problem is it keeps defaulting to that text page, although I deleted index.html and even replaced the file that shows the sites homepage to index.html when I just type the IP address that test page still comes up.
