So, I'm a long-time linux user, at home and at work. Since the Fedora Project changed their install tools, specifically the disk partition piece, I have a really difficult time installing Fedora. I'm currently using Fedora 20, and would like to upgrade to Fedora 21. I've got all my data backed up, so I'm all set to go, I just need to figure out how to partition my disks, as they are, now.
Note: I do understand that there are upgrade paths for Fedora, using utils like fed-up, and even just using yum; but I am somewhat reluctant due to past experiences.
So, my HDD layout is as follows:
/dev/sda - Rotating platter 2TB disk /dev/sdb - Rotating platter 2TB disk /dev/sdc - SDD 120GB disk
What my current layout looks like (fstab): pastebin
So, what I would like to do, is software raid on sda and sdb, have LVM (and LUKS) on that RAID partition, and use the faster sdc for OS specific binaries and "/" miscellaneous stuff. However, since the release of the "new" installer for Fedora, I haven't been able to figure out how to get this partition layout to go.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do "advanced" partitioning in the new-er Fedora install?
