Hi, folks. I'm doing some upgrades to my home network and would like to replace my current mishmash of named, dhcp, ipkungfu, and various other network services, into a single self-contained firewall image. Back in the '00s, I used m0n0wall for this, and loved it. But I see that they have ceased development. What's the next-best solution these days if I want something like m0n0wall?
If it helps motivate your advice, my plan is to run it as a VM, not on physical hardware.
EDIT: Looks like pfsense is, by far, the most popular choice. I think I'll be trying that out. Thanks, everybody!
