When you are documenating how a server is setup, do you just list the roles that server has and any special tweeks it might have or do you list every step it took to setup that server?
Sometimes I take the approach that anyone replacing me had better know the basics of Linux administraiton so i don't need to say HOW to create an init file, only that i did. Other times I feel the need to get very specific..
thoughts? have any links to best practice articles etc?
