I'm an attorney but the "human misery" aspect to the position wears on me every day. I know you have to deal with a lot of bullshit in the sysadmin world, but it's an entirely different sort of bullshit.
With that said, I'm considering getting my RHCSA. Just looking at the requirements, I could probably pass this test right now. I use CentOS on my home server, Fedora on my home PC, and I've been a Linux user for over ten years now. (It all started when I popped a Slackware 9 CD into my computer back in high school.)
I don't have much on my resume in the way of tech skills. My undergrad is not tech related. I have represented quite a few tech companies in business negotiations & contracts, though. Not sure if that will help. My law school has a recognizable name & it's considered Tier 1 but that's probably beside the point.
In any event, I was hoping my strong problem-solving capacity and (when I get it) an RHCSA/RHCE cert could offset my lack of an IT-related degree. Any thoughts on this? I might be barking up the wrong tree.
P.S. I don't care if the job pays less than I'm currently getting right now.
