I've been wondering this for a while now. Most of the automated install and management tools seem to assume that you have control over the DHCP server -- which I do not. (And I'm not allowed to set up one of my own for "security" reasons.) I have 60+ (and growing) machines that I manage, and I have been using a home-brewed method for installation and management. It works great, but I would gladly avoid reinventing the wheel if there's an alternative solution.
