Recently I have been working on LDAP. I have my new Samba AD DC on my Debian VPS that I am figuring out the limits of.
I wanted configure a Samba AD DC on my LUG's Centos server, but apparently Red Hat has an embargo on Heimdal. https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2014-July/182944.html
Coincidentally FreeIPA can't be installed on anything but Fedora based systems. https://www.redhat.com/archives/freeipa-users/2013-September/msg00001.html
I find it annoying that there is a One Game for the price of two thing going on, and the LDAP servers are the legendaries.
I can't seem to find a feature to feature comparison of FreeIPA to Samba AD DC or any reviews of them separately or any LDAP server except for things about how OpenLDAP is very fast with MDB and very hard to configure with OLC.
Have any of you seen any LDAP server reviews about FreeIPA and or Samba AD DC posted anywhere?
