The challenge seems to be that I can't get an email client to work, having tried both Thunderbird and Gmail. Gmail can't verify the username/password combo. Thunderbird at first could verify the username/password, but found the server. Now it doesn't seem to find the server.
vps, CentOS 6, postfix, dovecot, with the server set up fresh for this install, and nothing else running on it.
I can send email to the server, it shows up in ~/Maildir/new.
nmap shows 110 143 993 995 open
Like everything else I've learned in linux, I'm going on trial, error, googling and asking questions. I got this far on wikis and tutorials.
I've edited main.cf, but not master.cf. I keep reading more, but I am at the point of not knowing what I don't know at this point.
Any thoughts?
