Setting up Alfresco 5.0.a, getting HTTP 404 error on tomcat, any ideas?

Hey everyone, this is my second time here. The first time I posted a question I ended up discovering the problem because I had done something silly on my end lol...I have probably done it again here but alas, I would like some help just incase. I am on CentOS 6.5 with apache version 2.2.15-31 and tomcat version 7.0.53 and most importantly Alfresco version 5.0.a and the fact I am using mysql instead of postgresql (I have downloaded the msqyl-java connector and placed it in /opt/alfresco/tomcat/lib).

So I was able to install alfresco succesfully but when I go for example to "127.0.0.1:8080" i see the tomcat page but if I press anything on it I get an "HTTP Status 404". If I try accessing the manager app I get a "401 Unauthorized" and an explanation on how to change my tomcat-users.xml to have access. I have checked the permissions on /opt/alfresco and everything is owned by root which I believe is how it should be. I have disabled SELinux and the erorr still appears so what else could it be? I appreciate everyones assistance!
