My company uses the Centos minimal installation for all of our production Centos servers. Having been "re immersed" into the Linux world as a System Administrator in the last 6 months, I don't have a good sense of the exact benefits the minimal installation has over the GUI install.
I understand some of the generalities like lighter-weight, less attack surface, etc. Our main resource bottle-neck is storage, but not to the point where a couple 100 GB matters. Plenty of CPU and memory. Is it REALLY worth it to not have to manage the Centos GUI?
