A common NFS solution used to be mounting /usr RO on clients (I realize that with systemd, this doesn't really fly anymore). If I wanted to do something similar to this with about 1GB in a read-only partition, and get the clients to gradually but aggressively pre-cache this system to RAM / local swap, how would I do that? I've searched quite a bit and found research papers, etc, but nothing like a tuning guide that mentions this for use in production. (-o fsc doesn't seem to be what I want, unless I'm reading wrong)
Is anyone an NFS guru?
Alternately, would doing the same over iSCSI be significantly easier?
