Routing a IP range over a different interface/proxy

Hi. First off, a small explanation of my current network setup. Recently I have made a huge change to my home network. I'm now running my router inside of a VM. The host OS is Proxmox and the router VM is running IPFire, unfortunately running PFsense is not a option as FreeBSD 8.2 doesn't have proper VirtioIO support. I have a 200 down/10mbit up connection and wasn't being able to get the full throughput on PFsense. Switching to a Linux based OS that had proper ViritIO drivers has fixed that. I'm pretty happy with Ipfire although I'd wish Pakfire had more packages such as Munin-node.

Anyway. I'd like to be able to route any Japanese IP to a Japanese VPS I have so that I can make use of some Japan-only services. Now my question is, how would be the best way to go around this? My idea was to setup a OpenVPN server on the VPS and make my router connect with that, without setting any routes. Then, manually added the routes so that every Japanese IP gets routed through OpenVPN.
